Hello Experts,
Is it possible to create multiple steps for a job in a single instance? I mean that as of now I need to do (Ctrl+Shift+F8) and then enter data and create the step but I feel it would have been more easier if I would have an option to create this step within the same window (step list overview) and initiate step vertically down row by row.
is that possible? Your thoughts please?
Best Regards

We can't answer if you don't say which transaction it is. SM36? Classic creation or creation wizard? what is ctrl+shift+f8? (not all people use shortcuts!)

CTRL+SHIFT+F8 is only a helpful short cut to create a job on the fly. For a job with more steps, you could use transaction code SM36 where you create first the job header. Then, you can edit the step list inserting as much steps as you want. Each step normally consists of a report name and a selection variant. Be sure to first create the report variants and then create the job steps.
Best regards!

Hello All,
Thanks for your reply. I am using SM36 for it.
Perhaps the below given screen shot will help you under sting better what I am looking for..
I am not sure if it can be possible in standard but if it is then I will be more pleased to use SM36 that way.
Best Regards

One would think that a modern ERP system would have something better than a 70s style screen. But AFAIK in standard it's not possible to add steps any easier, at least up to ECC 6.0 EHP6. But I'm sure SAP would love to hear your suggestion if you sign up for some kind of Customer Influence program.
P.S. This is not an ABAP question (unless you're asking how to write a custom program for this), kindly make sure to post the job related questions in the Basis (Netweaver) forum.
