Cost Assignment.

can any one explain what is meant by cost assignment and why is it used or do you guys have ny related articles about them.

Hi Lourdes,

The question is too generic.. in simple terms it can be described as follows... for accounting purpose, you will have to assign the costs incurred against an activity/operation/transaction/trip/payroll etc to aControlling Object say aCost Center in the system. If you are lloking for a specific module , PL go through the SAP help.. for ex here is the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/ca/5100c55eae11d2a9d6080009ab6b44/frameset.htm">Link</a> to assign costs in Payroll.
