Correct IDoc

Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone could give me some information as to how we go about selecting the correct IDoc for a scenario.

I know the IDoc type defines the structure and the Msg Type defines the way the IDoc is to be viewed and processed.

But...

My question is how do we determine which is correct... for example how would I know which IDoc should be created on the save of a particular transaction in SAP

or

How would I know which IDoc is the correct one to say update timesheets in SAP

os thee a process to determine this?

Use the message type and description.

INVOIC is hardly going to create a sales order is it.

Hi Mendez,

Go to Transaction WE64, there you will get some Ideas, which Message type/IDoc types can be used for which SAP Transaction codes.

Else, you can get Information from respective Module Functional Consultants, which Message/IDoc type can be used for which SAP Transaction codes or Vice versa.
