CONTROL RECORD in IDOC

Hi xperts

I have an issue related to control records. In we19 i see the control record as EDIDC ut what i need is EDI_DC40. When cheked the documenation of the EDI_DC40 structure it is relating with "The control record for Release 4.0 has the structure EDI_DC40". How do i check this release and link to my idoc type ? this is for both outbound and inbound idoc.

Use Tcode SPAM to check the avalable release verions.

nope my question is abt the relationship btw edidc and edi_dc40 and how it is impacted......where i can use edi_dc40 etc
