Composite - Role Query

1. I have created sinle roles - R1, R2, R3, ...R6.

2. I Have created a composite R7 which contains R1, R2..R6

3. The reason for this composite is that I wanted to assign certian all the above six to certain folks.

Now on transporting, I see that the composite has not come through - but all singles have come in to the destination.

How do I get the composite in- Do I need a separate transport ??

Thanks

That's strange, I'd think it should come along automatically. Can you see the composite role in the object list of the transport request?

Just Transport composite role, single roles will come automatically.

Ravi,

Did you even read the original post? It says amongst other things:

> I see that the composite has not come through - but all singles have come in to the destination

Please only answer if you really have something to contrinbute, or if you need extra information to help the poster.

Now I am planning the following:

1. Create a new transport just for the composite.

My anxiety is will it make my single roles ( all of them are contained in the composite ) " unstable" - i Guess not - but any thoughts are welcome !

When transporting a composite you should get a chance to select whether you want to transport your singles again as well. No real need to worry about stability.

Hi George,

It depends on design and transport procedure you follow.

Some clients maintain composites roles in CUA system and single roles in child system, in that case you need to transport the single roles from the child system and later transport the composite from CUA system by unchecking Also transport single role for composite roles radio button.

(RFC read for single roles need to be taken care in this case)

If composite and single roles are maintained in the same system then transporting of composite roles will do(make sure you have checked following two radio buttons

Also transport single role for composite roles

Also transport generated profiles for single roles)
