Checkin whether package material exists.....

Hi friends,

I've got a scenario that i have to check for the existence of package material for a material in runtime..(based on material that is an item of an incomin document) So do we have any function module for this...And lemme know how to use the function module, if any exists.

Hi Praveen,

In the material master we can mention the packing material type. For example this material can be packed only in wooden box. This you can find in the material master (MM03), Sales:general/plant view. Field is "Matl Grp Pack.Matls".

Now in customising we can specify what are the packaging materials available for the packing material type.

You can see this in customizing. There are many options available under this. Please check it.

SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Packing.

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for replying. But this was not the one i was lookin for. I know the place, where we define packaging materials to materials and SPRO things... But i just want to do a validation in program...i.e. Whether packagin material exists for a particular material;if there it's name. For this i needed some function module to verify it... Thats it... My job is nothin to do with IMG settings...
