changing column width in ALV list

I have ALV list, here the requirement is if we say 'save variant' with reducing column width, but it is not effecting the saved variant. I am working in 4.7c version.

Could anyone help me........

Hi.

Variant or Layout?

If it's layout please check at "Change Layout" --> Display --> uncheck Optimize Columns

My requirement is changing the layout(in the list if I change the coulumn width it should and save variant it should save the current column width changes) execute with variant.

Hi,

Once you change output in ALV and say 'Save variant'

at that time it shall ask defaul check box ...

if you tick that then by default you will be able to see your desired output.

Other wise manually you will have to go to 'CHose variant' once ALV is displayed and select your variant to get desired output.
