CDS Data Preview

Hi all,

I have created a very simple CDS view:

And I can preview this using SAPGUI and write a simple ABAP to expose the data to ALV.  Syntax check is all fine and it activates OK.

However when I try to do a data preview I am getting an error message:

and the SQL executed is

as You can see my projection list does contain commas and I am only getting this problem when using data preview.  Has anyone seen this before?

Hi Jon,

Can you give me more details about the ABAP system version you are connecting to and the ABAP in Eclipse version you are using as well so that I can look into this?

Thanks Shyam,

SAP_BASIS and SAP_ABA are 740 SP7

Abap in eclipse is based on HANA studio 2.0.8 with the ABAP tools for SAP HANA v2.44.1.

Hi Jon,

I found the issue. I will update once the fix is available. The issue is from SP05 through SP07 systems.

From SP08 this issue does not appear. If it is easier for you to migrate to SP08 then you can do that for a quick fix. Nevertheless I will provide a fix for this and get back to you. Thanks for reporting the issue.

Hi Jon,

The fix is now available and part of the 2.44 release. I think you should be able to update the IDE and the issue will be fixed. Let me know if you face any issues and thanks for reporting the issue.
