CATT Problem

Hi Gurus!!

I´m trying to generate a recording of a transaction with CATT tool but this option is not allowed. I am only allowed to create manual test cases.

I have configured my client to allow create CATT and eCATT on transaction SCC4.

When I try to create a test case type CATT the next message is displayed:

"Releases higher than 6.40 are nor permitted".

My system is release 700.

This is very strange to me, somebody knows if this in normal?

did you see the T000 Table and

Field name - CCIMAILDIS and it should be 'X'

yes, the table T000 has the value 'X' for field CCIMAILDIS.

Is there anything else that am missing to enable the 'Record Transaction' menu function to be active.

How do I start recording ? Any inputs will be appreciated

what transaction you are using for CATT ?

if it is SCAT then use SCEM and try

I tried SCEM but I still donot have the 'record transaction' function active ? there should be something which I am missing but not sure what ?

Hello Manuel

Based on the discussion I could imagine that you try to record test scripts in an old-fashioned way.

You say you are on release 700. In this case use transaction <b>SECATT </b>and record an eCATT test script. For a classical transaction (<> enjoy transaction using controls) you should use the pattern <b>TCD Record</b>.

If you do not have this pattern available then it might be an authorization problem related to your user (and not to the client settings).

Hi All,

Are you thinking that the solutions provided is correct, as per the question.

If your answer is yes, then i stronly dis agree with the words. the reason is

Actually when we go through the transaction SCAT and create, and select the tool as catt

this error will raise, so as to remove this error , the solution cant be that use ecatt,

there is a solution for this --- first select as manual test case save it and then go for change mode

and change the type from manual test case to catt. and save , then come out of the transaction then go

to the trasaction code SCEM and then go for edit mode it will ask you for the tcd record.

there you can record the process .

Hello,

Since your release is greater than 6.4 i would recommend you to use eCATT tool to record your transaction.

Login to SECATT transaction and create the test script , search the forum for more information on how to record the transaction.
