Cannot log into SAP GUI ,miniwas 6.10 Test Version - Please help

I am very new to ABAP and have miniwas 6.10 test drive. I cannot log into SAP GUI and was getting an error "logon not possibe(no HW ID received from mssg server)". People here helped me posting possible solutions to my issue earlier but it did not fix my problem. I ran "saplicense -test pf=default.pfl" and noticed connection to message server was failing! I have an entry for port 3600 in my service file "SAPmsWA1 3600/tcp". Not sure what else to check! Any help would be great. Here is the text from DOS window I get when I run SAP License -test:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\MiniWAS>saplicense -test pf=default.pfl

Protocol saplicense test:

      • Read sapsytem name

ok, sapsytem name = WA1

      • Read message server host

ok, host = YagniR01

      • Read message server service port

ok, service port = sapmsWA1

      • Connect to message server

saplicense: test failed

      • Can not connect to message server (rc: -100)

Thanks in advance.

You have to start the miniSAP instance before you can log in to it.

On your desk top there should be an icon 'start SAP WA1' start that, and leave the DOS window running until you are finished.

If you get messages in the DOS window saying processes died check that MS loopback is running.
