can we change standard data elements

Hi all

can we change the standard data element if we have access key for that data element as per our custom requirement ,if answer is yes ,then if that table is a global table then where are the othere areas ,where we need to do modifications ,as it is globall effected.

If u have acess key to change the data element then during the activation time the automatic up dation takes place but one thing is essential that it canot broken earlier things.suppose if that data element is used in key field if u change the domain automatic that leads to loss of data .

that means if u haven't get any message that the key is worng .am i write

hi ,thanks for the reply sunil,

But the problem I am facing over is that ,when I am entering in change mode thru access key ,It is opening in display mode,where i am not able to change the domain,my requirement is to change the domain,,

Hi Karna,

You cannot change the SAP standard data elements or domains. Instead create new Z elements

Hi Karna,

You may able to change the data but you cannot able to change the Domain or datatype of the already existing Standard table, for that as said earlier by other, you have to create a Z-table for that.

Hi......

Data Element and Domain are Independent Objects in SAP so if u want to change the domain then u need to provide the access key for domain if u want to change the data element then provide the access key for that Data element ....

Hi Karna....

if u give the correct access key it will definitely open in the change mode

if u give wrong access key it will prompt u to try again.....

Just check it once.......

Hi,

May be the structure is set to 'cannot be enhanced'. Open the structure -> Click 'Extras' -> Click 'Enhancement Category....'.
