can SNOTE be used to implement DDIC changes

Hello experts,

I am implementing OSS note 1317162 and all prerequisite notes have been implemented. There are 12 steps in this note.

Step1: 1. I need to create new domains, data elements, structures, table types.

2. Need to add some new fields in some structures, delete some fields in structures, change the data elements for some fields in some structures. There are around 200 structures that needs correction.

Can i do step using SNOTE transaction or it has to be done manually. I read that DDIC changes cannot be implemented through SNOTE. Please guide me on this.

Step2: Need to create a new include program.

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step3: Need to add some new attributes in standard classes.

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step4: Need to add new methods in some classes.

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step5: Add new methods in some BADIs

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step6: Change existing methods in some BADIs (like changing the parameters)

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step7: Change existing methods in some classes (like changing the parameters)

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step8: Delete some structures ex: J_1BEFDS_D_3_D120, J_1BEFDS_1_3_1320

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step9: Delete some table types

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Step10: Implement source code - Apply the correction instruction of thisn ote relevant for your release.

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually? I guess this will insert source code in the include created in step2.

Step11: Generate program xxxxx? This is the program created in step2.

Can this step be implemented through SNOTE or it has to be done Manually?

Please guide me in each step if i have to do it manually or thru SNOTE.

I have 200 DDIC structures that need to be changed, if i have to do manually its really painful.

Thanks in advance....

Thanks,

Rajesh.

Hi Rajesh

DDIC changes will be have to be done manually. Moreover these steps would be specified as manual steps in the OSS note explanation.

Also, as these will be standard data elements, domains etc, you wil be needing help from your basis team to get the keys for this.

Thanks.

Nowhere in the note it specified as manual changes. I have almost decided to take access keys. However i am not sure if basis generates 200+ access keys for me. Its really painful job.

Can you explain me if the other steps in my question except step10 also have to be created manually by taking access key?

Also the in the end the note has valid release, support packages, related notes, attachments, correction instructions.

Support packages:

Support package Release Package Name

SAP_APPL 602 SAPKH60206

Correction instructions:

Correction Valid valid Software type reference correction last changed

Instructions from to Coponent

757276 602 602 SAP_APPL C EACK075138 29.04.2009 08:33:10

Can basis directly import the package name SAPKH60206 or transport number EACK075138 instead of doing it from SNOTE or Manually.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks,

Rajesh.

I went thru your Note. One thing is sure If you are not implementing the Support package then you have to do DDIC and Method/Class Stuff manually. There is no Easy way out.

Option 2 - Support packages

You will have to do rigirous testing (not only this note but System testing) of your system if you go for support package.

Yes.
