Can one program be edited by two different users at the same time

Hi,

I know the above question sounds weird, because such a situation would cause program to be inconsistent and incorrect.

But does anyone know if the above can be achieved by modifying or deleting certain locks. Please help.

Points will be rewarded.

thank you.

Hi,

In transaction SM12 you can delete locks.

this will release the program locked by some other user. & then you can edit it.

(specify the user name who has locked the program in SM12 and search)

But as usuall this is inconsistent.

Hi,

I dont thnk you can do so.

This Lock is being set by SAP system when you call SE38 transaction in edit mode.

This is some thing which is being done by SAP Standard and most likely even basis cant help in this.

May be you can do one thing, explain your requirement to SAP and raise an OSS message. They can give you some work around but again this is not suggested.

Hi,

As suggested by our other friends this can be done using SM12. But as soon as you open a program in edit mode one lock entry is made and you need to go and delete the same in SM12.

So every time you make any change and while activating it would create a lock entry which you need to delete in SM12.

Though you can see same program open in EDIT mode at two places but effectively only one person would be able to work.

hi

good

no need to change by two user ,tel your basis guys to make your two client as cross client, suppose you have two client 300 and 310 and both are cross client than if you change in report at 300 client than the changes will automatically reflect at 310 .

thanks
