Hi,

I have a system A on which we have R/3 system and on system B we have our WAS-J2EE only.

I want to call a BAPI from system B to system A,from a JAVA application .The systems are on a secure WAN (VPN)

I want to know if there would be any performance problems/issues in this scenario?

What could be the possible problems etc.

Regards,

NW

Hi Madhusudan,

VPN is a the network level, for you there will be no effect. The only thing that you must check, is, if the port number is allowed by your VPN.

Hi Madhu,

See whether you can ping the sap system from your system B. If OK then there will be no problem. If you get any specific problem please discuss.

Regards,

Ramesh.

Hey Madhusudan,

SAP By Itself has got the SAP-J2EE Connector, so if you ping that, You won't be having any issues at all. Please do let me know any Issues that you are facing,

Thanks

Hi madhusudan,

1. if there would be any performance problems/issues in this scenario?

Don't worry about performance. Whenever SAP R/3

is setup in any company, the hardware infrastrucure

is such that it has to be fast otherwise

people won't accept the system.

At the most, the completion of bapi

could take some time, other wise

no problem at all

(U can consult your basis team

and guys who are responsible for CONNECTIVITY

in your conmpany)
