Do anyone have a Benchmark or personal statistics about customer code cost? (how much the
Custom Code cost to be build and maintain over the years including upgrade cost)
Do anyone have a Benchmark about how the customer code is getting obsolete over the time? For instance
how many z-code become obsolete over the year; 10% per year 30% after each
upgrade??.
Any information that you can share could be useful to me.

http://service.sap.com/customcode
There are all infos
1 custom code object new created: Initial costst ~5000€
1 custom code object maintenance costs per year 500€
independent if it is a DDIC, report, function module, class, method,....
And it will produce also maintenance costs, if you don't use it.
What are the saving potentials if you don't use the custom code but it is existing:
maybe 33% of 500€. Then you save the costs for hotline. But upgrade will create additional costs.
So in best case
REMOVE THIS WASTE from your system.
Furthermore in average: 65% or existing custom code is NOT creating any business value for the company = Obsolete
Once there in most cases it remains forever and you pay again and again.
Custom code become obsolete as soon as you change your business, as soon as you consume innovation, as soon as you move.
