Bar code printer configuration

Hi,

We have SAP R/3 and Hp laser jet priter . Any idea about how to install bar code printer and configuration.

Do i need to install any driver for that ?

Please suggest.

For our HP laser jets, we had to install a DIMM card into the printer in order to for the barcode to show up.

I understand that there may be a software solution for this as well.

I have used the JetCAPS barcode DIMM/SIMM on some of the HP printers.

Some of the HP printers have barcode support as a standard.

You have to use transaction SPAD to make sure the correct device type is being used for the printer.

You can take the physical printer offline and print a configuration page. It will usually show if the JetCAPS module is installed, or it should show barcode fonts are available by default. After that, check txn SPAD to verify the device type for the printer.
