How to find the BAPI that exactly meets our requirement?

Use transaction BAPI or use transaction SE37 and search based on either application.

or goto SE37 and type BAPI<ur requirement name>

eg. bapi_class* - to display bapi related to class

use transaction BAPI or u can search in SE37 with BAPI* and then u can find ur concerned bapu FM there

when u will give BAPI* in se37 ..it wil give u a list of FMs and then u can search there for ur concerned BAPI (like search for sales etc) and once u got ur bapi ,u just need to call this Function module in ur program (may be report program )same as tht of any FM..and do the processing..

If u have found ur bapi then analysis that function module.

see the import parameter, table parameter.

if the optional check box is not checked its a mandatory field so u have to pass the value else u will get error while executing.

in table parameter u can see RETURN which gives u the return parameter from this u can track the error mesages & correct it.

u can test the function module in se37 itself.

folllow the below process,

Each and every BAPI having a characteristics and it work accordingly, if you know the kind of BAPI than you can search that in BAPI Tcode otherwise when you assigned any work related to BAPI than you ll get the appropriate BAPI for that by the functional consultant.

Copy the code in se38 and execute it , give the transaction name as input and it will give you list of BAPI and User Exit for that transaction.
