Hello,
Is there an authorization that allows a user to save general (non user specific) ALV layout?
Although we could implement this ourselves by setting I_SAVE, I am trying to avoid it.
Thanks in advance

Yes, this object is call each time you use ALV Grid.
But check also OSS note for this object: for ex 670086.

Thank you Fred, but the authorization only allows to save layouts at all. I didn't find a way to specify the kind of layouts the user may save. (user specific, default)

Hi Roland,
my experience shows that it also depends on the systems client settings: If the client is set not changeable, you have to create the variants in development system and transport them into test/production system.
Sometimes this is helpful not enabling all users to make unwanted modifications to the layouts.

hi
good
To save a layout:
On the Save Layout screen, choose the Save tab and enter a name for the layout under Layout and a short description under Description. To save a layout as user-specific, choose the relevant indicator. If this is not selected, the layout is saved for use by all users. To save the layout as the default layout, choose Default. This field is only active if you have the corresponding authorization to save default layouts.
