Assign Batch while creating Production Order

Hi Experts,

Good Day!

We have a requirement to create batch ,Production Order and assign that batch to "Goods Receipt" tab in production Order created.

But BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE bapi doesn't have batch field , hence we aren't able assign the batch while creating Production Order.

Is there any way to assign batch to production order while creating?? or the ultimate option would be changing the production order once it is created.

Hi, you don't need to create batch and create production order in two separate steps.

You can have batch created automatically during production order creation. You can set that in production scheduling profile - SPRO: Production -> Shop Floor Control -> Master Data -> Define Production Scheduling Profile:

Thanks much 3a9e4ce873a94034b33dc62b0ce600ee ! We discussed the solution you suggested with our process team and they are okay with this approach.

Now the batch is created and assigned to Production Order the time of Production Order creation , and in program we are trying to get the batch no assigned to this PO and updating the batch characteristics.

Hi,
I tried the same approach SPRO: Production -> Shop Floor Control -> Master Data -> Define Production Scheduling Profile:
And also made sure that the Batch management is enabled for the material.
Still the batch number not getting assigned on production order creation.
Am I missing anything?

After maintaining the production scheduling profile in the material master Work Scheduling View.
