HI,
I want to archive data form MM_MATBEL. In the Customizing, you can put the center, operation class, and the life of the documents.
But when you goes to archive , you have to create a variant with center, operation class, etc etc..
If you write a center and operation class in the customizing, do you have to put the same in the variant of the archive? I explain it? The customizing data have a hard repercusion on the variant data or reverse?
thanks a lot!

Hello,
The application-specific customizing settings for material documents (MM_MATBEL) is used to configure residence times for all plants and transaction/event types (this is the terminology for this archive object in 4.6C). The write job variant can be used to separate archived data by the different selection criteria. The write job will check the customizing settings to see if a document has met the archivability criteria. Note that for MM_MATBEL customizing settings, the wild card to use for all plants (if you choose to do it this way) is #### (not the usual *) and for all transaction/event types is ##.
I hope this answers your questions.

The job uses the selection criteria specified within the job variant and checks that against the customizing settings.
Does that answer your question?
