Appending fields to a structure

Folks,

I am trying to insert some fields in to the following structures VBAKKOM and VBAPKOM. Please suggest me how to insert those fields. Should I add those fields to Append structure or Include. Please suggest me if you have another way.

Since they are standard structure, as far as I know, you ought to add your fields using an append structure.

Thanks for the reply. Just a clarification...if I use append structure for adding some fields to the standard structures...will the addition of those fields effect other tables or structure which contains that append structure. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Naren,

For <b>VBAKKOM</b> : you will have to register the object in OSS. You can either add directly to structure or append a structure. I recommend appending a structure.

For <b>VBAPKOM</b> : you can just add fields to <b>ZAVBAPKOZ</b> structures.

Sorry...my perception is wrong. An append structure is assigned to only one table.

I have added my fields to an append structure ZAVBAKKOZ in VBAKKOM. But I got an pop up window saying "Warning exist during activation". Please suggest

Hi Naren,

Warnings are OK. If you get ERROR then it's a problem. After activating ZAVBAKKOZ, go back and activate VBAKKOM.

A quick question. When I added couple of fields to the append structure...the fields are reflected in VBAKKOM and other structures too like BVBAKKOM. But I dont want to add those fields in those structures. I am just wondering whether those additions in other structures will screw up something.
