ALV in background

My first post! I am running a report in the background. The report is written in ALV, but the spool file offers no ability to use any ALV functionality. Is there any way to do this? Someone suggested that I send the report through SAP inbox instead of spooling it. However, I tried this and still can't figure out how to bring in the ALV functionality. Any ideas would be most helpful.

If you can exactly tell which report you are running and check if it has ALV listed in its List Output maybe that can help you.
