alphanumeric serial numbers when creating equipments

hi everybody

I am creating vehicles of type V in fleet management

I am using the BAPI BAPI_EQUI_CREATE for that

HOwever, im getting an error while uploading an equipment with a serial number of type alphanumeric

like AS3333

is there any way to avoid getting error in the BAPI if the serial number is alphanumeric?

Error is 'Serial number AS404 cannot be created for Equipment 100010

can you give the message number?

I dont have this message in SAPs message table T100.

Can you try to create this record with the online transaction.

do you then get the same error? if yes, talk to your functional consultant
