Hello, I have recently learned ABAP and now want to practice ALE. As I am reading some material and tutorials available, I am understanding that I need 2 clients to practice those tutorials. Is it possible to practice ALE in single client environment ? and How ?

Hi Dan ,

You have to have two different client , basically the logical systems names are refers to your clients . You’ll get the whole bunch of ALE stuff in T-code SALE and as far as EDI is concern you can see t-code WEDI. Normally there transaction starts from BD* and We* . you can see them in SE93.

I `d recommend you go to www.gooogle.com and type "SAP ALE" . you’ll get the bunch of documents. I started ALE by Arvind Nagpal book its really awesome .

Hope this’ll give you idea.!!

Pl. award the points if its helps you .

Thanks

Hi Dan Arvind,

You can very well run Ale with one machine.

Here the senders ip address and Receivers IP address are same in this case.

and Rest all is same even this case helps at times.

Do reward Points if found useful.

Hi Kishore,

I dont understand how can one practice ALE with only one client as explained by you in this thread. Even though you create two logical system, you can assign only one logical system to a client. How do you distribute and transfer data then??

Please explain.

Regards,

Tanveer.
