Good Morning,
after my vacation, I saw that Eclipse Photon is available.
Is it a problem to use Photon with ABAP Development Tools or is a new version of ADT required?
On https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/ I can see "available for Oxygen / Neon".
Any thoughts?
Best regards,
Dominik

It's not available yet. But I've pointed my Photon installation to the SAP Oxygen URL and it installed just fine.
I haven't found any issues with ABAP, but can't create a HANA project even though the HANA tools are installed. But you can still keep a copy of Eclipse Oxygen on your system to use that.
Obviously it's unsupported, so risks are your own. I haven't deleted my Oxygen installation, and when SAP release the Photon tools I'll start afresh with a clean copy of Eclipse Photon.

OK, thanks for that information.
I will give it a try and also keep Oxygen in parallel just in case.

It actually is supported, there just is no dedicated update site for Photon yet. So I just used the Oxygen one in Photon which worked fine.
Also no idea why the patch notes look so weird since some updates ago...

Ah, now I found also the help view in Eclipse.
Thanks for that information. For me the patch notes look exactly the same.

Hi Dominik,
mike.pokraka and 0281bd377f70426e8bb9d2d0005e7762 are right. The currently available version works in general with Photon. Nevertheless I recommend to wait for the version which will most probably published on the Update Site end of next week. It contains some Eclipse Photon specific corrections that are not part of ADT 2.94.
Best Regards,
Felix

Hi Felix,
all right, thanks for the update on that topic!
Once available on the update site I will re-install all the stuff.

FWIW, the official Photon tools are now available. I just took a new copy of Eclipse Photon and installed the ATD tools.
The ABAP tools work, but HANA and BW tools are not available. This is documented in the table at https://tools.hana.ondemand.com - but I still have my other copy of eclipse for that. I expect these will be added to Photon in due course.

Meanwhile HANA and BW tools have been released for Photon too.
