Adjusting Table

Hello SDNites,

I have made changes in data element of a table field(from Char 20 to char 40) and activated it. Also I have adjusted the table using SE14. But still I am not able to maintain the 40 charatcer in this field via transaction SM30.

Every suggestion is welcome.

Abhishek

Did you recreate TMG?

if no than just delete old TMG and recreate again.

Hi,

You need to go to SE11 with table in change mode

Utilities -> Table Maint Generator

in the first menu you have change option a pop-up comes up showing why you want to adjust the screen check a field has been changed. and save the screen would be changed accordingly..this I guess is possible from SE30 with maintain option

once you have changed the data element and adjusted the table and activated it..the changes doesnot immediately reflect back in SM30...

goto Utilities-->table maintenance genarator...regenerate the table maintenance generator using Environment --> Maintenance objects --> generate...

if this doesnot work then delete the TMG and create a new TMG.
