adding the field to segment

Hi

while i am adding the field to segment i am getting this error

"Error while resetting release of segment Z1XXXX"

Message no. EA259.

here i did the cancel release to edit the segment to add field

i am not able to go to edit mode.any suggestions?

can be an authorization issue.

You need special authorizations to edit segment or to release/cancel it.

Can you check the SU53 log to see if you have authorizations?

goto tcode WE31 and enter your segment name and press the enter

then select your version of your segment goto EDIT and select CANCEL RELEASE and add your filed...

Hi Sunny,

If you want to add a new field, then in WE31, go to Segment->Add version.

After addition of the field, set release to this version. But before all this, Cancel release on the active version.

Let us know if it worked.

Hi ,

thank you for your responce.still iam facing the same problem while doing the cancel release.

getting below error.

here i need to add the filed in between the existing fileds of segment.

Maybe System Release version in this segment (EDISEGMDEF-RELEASED) is not the same than current System Release (SY-SAPRL).
