access key and developer key

Hi guys

Is developer key and access key different..when iam trying to write a program its asking me for access key.it says that iam not registered as sap developer..Plz help

Yes, they are different, developer key is what you need to create objects in the system. You OSS admin should be able to get you one from service.sap.com. Object Access key is something else. This is where you are trying to change or create an object which is not within the customer namespace(object beginning with "Z" or "Y") in this case you would need to register the object at service.sap.com and get an access key, which you then enter into the required dialog, then it will allow you to change the standard object.

Hi,

You should have developer key to create 'Y' or 'Z' objects.It is provided by Basis people.

Access Key is required in order to modify/create standard objects.Can be taken from Service marketplace if you are registered there.
