ABAP in Eclipse 2.0 eclipse juno (4.2.1)

Hi,

SAPNote 1718399 says that ABAP in Eclipse 2.0 supports eclipse Juno. I have installed it without errors and restarted eclipse, but I'm missing the ABAP project option under New Project and the ABAP perspective is also missing. I have also updated my eclipse Indigo to ABAP in Eclipse 2.0 and this works fine. Is this a known problem with Juno or did I miss something?

Regards,

Jeroen

Do you find any entries when you search for "ABAP" using Quick Access (Ctrl+3) in Eclipse? There should be also an entry for the ABAP perspective?

Hi Michael,

No, there are no entries when I search for ABAP. I have attached a screenshot of the installed software.

Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

this sounds strange. Could you provide some infromation for further analysis?

Maybe, it's worth to raise an OSS ticket, assign it to application component BC-DWB-AIE and attach the information listed in the Eclipse Error Log and the support information.

For providing the content of the error log

  1. Open the error log via Quick Access (Ctrl+3): search for the view "Error Log"
  2. Use the export functionality in the toolbar of the view

For providing the support information (I hope these menu entries are available in your installation)

  1. Choose the menu "Help->Collect Support Information…" and save them in a local file

Hi Michael,

This was indeed strange. I checked the error log and there were a lot entries in it, but I couldn't find a ADT or SAP related entry. The Help->Collect Support Information menu entry was not available.

I started again with a new clean eclipse 4.2.1 classic download and extracted it to a different folder. From here I installed all the dependencies and the ADT v2.0 plugins and now it's working as expected! I think there are some conflicting plugins in my other eclipse installation. I have SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Android development plugins installed here. I will try to find out which plugin causes the conflict.

Best regards,

Jeroen

Hi Michael,

I can't reproduce the error/issue. Last week I started with a clean Eclipse Juno installation and installed ABAP Development Tools. Today I have added Android ADT plugins and NetWeaver Gateway plugins. ABAP Development Tools is still working. Maybe it was a sequence problem or my other Eclipse installation is corrupted.

Best regards,

Jeroen

HI! Jeroen,

I am unable to get ABAP Development Tools for Eclipse (Juno).

Is it downloadable plugin or needs to be dowloaded from https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/juno.??

However https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/juno. is down and not opening.

Thanks

Sumit

Hi Sumit,

You can follow this procedure: SAP Development Tools for Eclipse

Both kepler and juno are mentioned.

Hi Sumit,

Please try again with a clean new installation of Eclipse. I see in your screenshot that you use the Java EE version. I installed it on the Eclipse Juno Classic version (last option on http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/juno/sr2).

Best regards,

Jeroen
