ABAP Certification

Hi All,

I am working as an ABAP programmer in a service company in India, and want to have myself sap certified on ABAP [TAW10 TAW12]....but i dont want to take the course , just want to appear for the crtification.

I have sent a mail to education.apa@sap.com and they told me to forward my resume and one recommendation letter, apporved by my PM to them, which they will route to their sap education center in india to verify if i can take the certification test directly.

I just want know what are prerequisite for ABAP certification in terms of :

1. Work experience

2. Educational Background

and if i take & clear the certification test without taking any course by SAP Education Center, will my certificate will be equally valuable as of those who have taken the full academy course??

work experiance : 2 years

educational background : graduate

But i still dont know whether some one can directly take the exam?

And even if they do it is not easy to clear as most of the questions are theoritical and the theoritical aspects are covered in the training given by them

The needed working background depends more on the ABAP tasks you already worked on.

I didnt need the course for getting certified.

Instead I made extensive use of BCABA.pdf of

On the other side there are people who visit the course only and get certified without any working experience.

Can anybody provide me any link form where i can download the material [ which is precribed by sap for ABAP certification].

Hi Anid.

You cannot download the certification material from anywhere since it is only for those who are taking the course from SAP.You can easily clear the exam if you have well prepared all the Course books provided by SAP.Reading BC ABAP Library and going for exam won't help you.You need to prepare according the Course listed by SAP by reading the SAP Study Material.Try to get it and Prepare well.Go to http://www.service.sap.com and download the book names(BC410 etc..) which you need to prepare for your exam..Best of Luck...

Reading BC ABAP library was sufficient for me and 5 more colleagues of my company. We had working background in several ABAP topics for about 1-2 years.

SAP wants you in their courses like profs at the university wants you to visit their courses

For sure its easier with the courses

Hi Rene.

What i am trying to say is Unless you have real time experience in all ABAP Objects it is hard to pass the exam eventhough you prepare BC ABAP library...

I agree. Reading BC ABAP library without having ABAP experience would be very frustrating and boring, too
