ABAP Cloud Project Error

Hello guys,

I'm currently learning ABAP, as I'm following the learning journey of acquiring core abap skills, I created a cloud project on eclipse, and got access to a practice system from SAP, I created a cloud project and entered the URL of the system, However, I deleted this project entirely and created a new one, but the name of the old project is still there as system id,

Now when I try to edit something in the new project, I get error message object could not be locked, objects are assigned to provided repository "zlearning", changes are not allowed.

What can I do now to solve this problem?

Check in SAP system, in SE80 if the object still exist as you deleted only project in eclipse.

The issue is most likely because the old Eclipse project/repository assignment is still maintained in the ABAP system. Deleting the Eclipse project locally does not necessarily remove the repository assignment from the system.

You can try the following:

1. Open the new ABAP Cloud Project in Eclipse and make sure you are connected to the correct ABAP system.

2. Check whether the package/repository ZLEARNING is still assigned to the old project.

3. If the objects are assigned to ZLEARNING and the system says that changes are not allowed, check the package properties and the repository assignment in ADT.

4. If this is an SAP-provided practice/trial system, you may need to reset/recreate the project or repository assignment from the system side rather than simply deleting and recreating the Eclipse project.

5. Also make sure you are using the correct ABAP Cloud project type and the same system URL/client that was provided for your practice system.

The important point is that the Eclipse project is only the local representation of the connection. Deleting it does not necessarily delete or reset the corresponding repository/package configuration in the backend.

If the ZLEARNING repository is still locked/assigned to the previous project, the exact reset procedure depends on the type of SAP practice system being used.
