Hi Nisheeth,

I have a simple requirement to upload the exchange rate using a CSV file into S/4HANA Cloud, this approach we even use in our traditional ERP ECC systems, why should I use an external paid service in SAP cloud platform to achieve this.

Does the activation of scope Item 1S4 in S/4HANA cloud gives me an API which I can use to upload the exchange rate by building our own UI5 app? I noted from the documentation that scope item 1S4 provides communication scenario SAP_COM_0203, are there any inbound API available to upload the exchange rate S/4HANA cloud.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Let me answer your question step by step.

Firstly, a direct, manual upload of rates is also possible in S/4HANA Cloud. You can refer to the application 'Import Market Data' for such an import. But unfortunately, it is not possible to automate this import, and it involves manual effort.

That's where our service comes in. Using our service, you can automate your entire data flow from procuring rates from your third party data provider to the rates being available in your S/4HANA system. You would need an implementation on your side to help accomplish this, but it is possible using the APIs provided by our service.

In addition to the automation, we also have other value adding features in the pipeline. If you'd be interested, we would love to discuss these use cases in detail with you.

Coming to the 1S4 scope item, I would prefer that you reach out to the S/4HANA Cloud colleagues to confirm this. I would not like to give you a half cooked answer here.

Thanks for your updates.

The option to use the "Import Market Data" app in S/4Hana Cloud is not something suitable for us as you rightly said we cannot schedule this to run on a daily basis . We were looking for an API in S/4HANA cloud to facilitate this, however I dont see any such API in the documentation.

We will activate 1S4 to explore further and if we are stuck we will certainly look for your help.

Hi, did you get to the bottom of this and the possibilities in 1S4?

We also would like an inbound API to post currency rates, or an outbound API to retrieve currency rates.
