How to replace i18n text of standard control

I have developed a custom app using the control

Now I would like to replace a text from the file

resources/sap/suite/ui/commons/messagebundle_de.properties

I have found the following information but I am not able make it work. Is this possible?

I’m not sure but I guess you could try to extend the control and overwrite this text.

The link you refer to is related to fiori elements not sure this will work for controls.

I can only confirm what Wouter already wrote: It is not possible to extend or replace texts in the message bundle of a standard UI5 controls.
