Boom 💥 what a start into 2024 with three new releases in January!
Check out the January 2024 news for SAP Datasphere with great new features, and lots of excellent blogs in the community 👇
When scheduling a new task in the Data Integration Monitor, or elsewhere in SAP Datasphere, you can now specify a frequency for scheduled runs in minutes, in addition to hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly intervals. More information
The default value for the delta load interval remains at 60 minutes. You can change it in the Details side panel by entering an integer between 0 and 24 for hours and 0 and 59 for minutes, respectively. The maximum allowed value is 24 hours. If you enter 0 hours and 0 minutes, the system replicates any source changes immediately. More information
For transformation flows, you can now create an SQL view transform to combine and transform data in a powerful SQL editor. You can choose between writing a standard SQL query using SELECT statements and operators such as JOIN and UNION, or use SQLScript to produce a table function. More information.
While the initial release of the folders feature lasted only few hours before being removed again due to performance impact on customer tenants, they are delivered now with release 2024.03. You can now use folders to organize the objects in your space. You can create a folder in the Repository Explorer, Business Builder, or Data Builder and it is immediately available across each of these apps. Once a folder is created, you can move objects to it or create objects in it. More information.
End of 2023 the Hierarchy with Directory feature was delivered with SAP Datasphere. There is a new blog series from Jai Gupta and Sefan Linders going deeper in describing how this feature can be leveraged:
➡️ An Introduction to Hierarchy with Directory in SAP Datasphere
➡️ Modeling a basic Hierarchy with Directory in SAP Datasphere
➡️ Modeling an advanced Hierarchy with Directory in SAP Datasphere
The SAP Community underwent a major overhaul this month. All the content of blogs and Q&A are still there, but on a much more modern platform. I need to admit that I still need to find my way around, as I was so much used to the old page and how to navigate it. I am really looking forward 👀 to exploring the new opportunities in the new world.
Therefore, there are less blogs than usual, but there were still several great blogs written in January.
