Dear SAP Community,
As we cross the halfway mark of the year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our progress and introduce the exciting new features we've added over the past few months.
Here’s what’s new:
Following up on Franziska's March update, we're excited to expand the capabilities of SAPUI5 adaptation projects. Now, you can unlock the full potential of SAP applications in SAP BTP, ABAP environment: We've enhanced the SAPUI5 flexibility to allow developers to customize standard SAP apps to meet specific customer requirements. For detailed guidance, check out our documentation on leveraging SAPUI5 Adaptation Projects in the SAP Business Application Studio.

We’ve upgraded the SAP HANA Deployment Infrastructure Deployer (HDI deployer) in the “SAP HANA Database Project” template from version 4 to 5. This new version streamlines project setups by removing the built-in SAP HANA client, reducing overhead and simplifying client management.
While the generation of new projects has already been adjusted, if you're upgrading existing projects, make sure to manually include the SAP HANA client in your project dependencies to avoid disruptions.

To assist you with the transition, SAP Business Application Studio now includes a problem indicator for projects using HDI deployer version 5 without an SAP HANA client. This problem indicator not only helps to discover incomplete configurations it also offers a quick-fix action for easy resolution.

We encourage all developers to upgrade to this latest version to benefit from the newest features and innovations.
Have you heard about SAP Build Code? It’s our latest offering on SAP BTP, tailored for developers working with SAPUI5, SAP Fiori elements and CAP. It offers a turn-key development environment that integrates runtime and design time capabilities, facilitating coding, testing, integrations, and application lifecycle management. SAP Build Code includes Joule, a generative AI copilot, enhancing developer productivity by automating the generation of application logic, data models, and testing scripts, allowing for a smoother and faster development process.
