Shipping Point- Service industry

Hi,

My client is Software company, so i am using only service materials.

So is it nessasary to create shipping point and assign it to Plant.

Shipping point is required to deliver the goods physically, and in the process of shipping many activities like picking ,packing,pgi etc done.

But in services, you have nothing physical to deliver.Here ,I think no "shipping point" should not be required. you do not create any delivery document here.

Your office itself can be defined as Plant if required as shipping point also.

Billing will be created with reference to the Sales order.

You are not required to create shipping point. You billing will be directly form sales order and no delivery will include. Shipping point is required where u have to create billing with ref to dlivery.

YES it is neccesasry, create plant code has shipping point itself.
