ECC6 - What are the prerequisites for diplaying the revision field ( VIQMEL-REVNR ) in a maintenance notification?
This was resolved with:
a) Turning on the PLM extension, and
b) Loading enhancement packs up to EHP3
Nothing else was required.
Thanks all for your suggestions.

GreyBeard,
Revisions in notification is part of Maintenance event builder functionality available from Enhancement Pack 2 of ECC6.0.Some excerpts from documentation
In order to use this you would need to activate the business functions Project Oriented Maintenance (LOG_EAM_POM) and PLM Extension (EA-PLM) and installed the support packages for ECC-DIMP.
If you activate the business function Project Oriented Maintenance (LOG_EAM_POM), you must, as of now, import all ECC-DIMP Support Packages.
If you have activated the business function A&D Maint., Repair & Overhaul (AD_MRO_CI_1), you do not need to activate additional business functions to use these functions.
Here is the link on the MEB functionality

Hope this helps.

Narasimhan,
In this client we have enterprise extensions for DFPS and PLM. I cannot identify LOG_EAM_POM in the IMG. Would enterprise extensions for DFPS supercede your other recomendations? However, I would be concerned with presenting additional menu choices that DFPS is likely to incorporate - a lot of functionality not relevant to a Nickel Refinery!
GreyBeard,
As indicated above in order to use MEB , you would probably need to import all packages of ECC-DIMP.However in your case since you already have the industry solution DFPS active(There can only be one Industary solution active ), i am guessing that all other Conflicting Enterprise Business function sets have been deactivated by the switch framework (Including Project Oriented maintenance) in transaction SFW5.
However, how are you planning on using the revision field? If its just a simple assignment that you are looking to do, You could enhance the Notiifcation user screen on the header to bring in this field and do your checks and assignments. If you are looking for more functionality like adjusting dates and reporting needs you may have more development work.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Narasimhan
