What is the difference between creating BOM in CS01 vs C201?

When creating the BOM, why are there two methods (CS01 vs C201)?  What are the advantages/disadvantages of one over the other?  

Are there some example scenarios that can help me understand how these are applied and how to decide between which one to use?

The SAP PP System/module was create for attend Process Industries and Repetitive/Discrete Industries.

The CS01 you can create a BOM for Repetitive/Discrete Industries scenarios. In C201 you can create a BOM with recipe for Processes Industries.
