Manage material serial number app- S4HC Public

Hi,

what is the usage of "manage material serial number" app?

This material -323- is managed in serial number and already has some stock in plant.

Also, some equipments are created based on these serial numbers.

But neither stock nor equipments serial number are shown in this app.

As I found, only serial numbers which created in this application are displayed in this application. Also, after creation of those serial numbers, I cannot use it to receipt the material with this serial numbers!!!!

So, what is usage of this app?

Hi 03221991,

1. Manage Material Serial Number app has following capabilities (which was available in transaction webUI IQ01 / 02 / 03 and IQ09):

1. List of Serial Numbers
2. Create / Change / Display / Mass create Serial Numbers.

In future this app will be capable of handling extensibility where customer can maintain the new fields for their business. Further to the query:

As such equipment information is already displayed in the app.

But, we do not plan to show the stock information here. Customer has to use Stock Single Material or Stock multiple materials app to view the stock information.

1. The only option is to look into the existing serial number via serial number search. Here it lists all the serial numbers. From here, they can fetch the last serial number created in the system.

Thanks for answering.

The problem is when I create a serial number in combination of a material , I cannot use it in equipment master anymore.

Also, when I receipt a material with serial number in Goods Movement application, I don't see this combination (serial number/material) in this app.

to activate this ability I have to first assign a document to serial number? I didn't get this correctly and appreciate if you kindly can explain it more please.
