Hi Akram,

You mean if holiday falls on Saturday, and Sunday, system should off/unpaid. If that is the case try with

Weekday Sat Sun

b123456789 b123456789 b123456789

111111111 222222222 222222222

-Left b as blank - just incase format screwed up

If requirement is if holiday falls on Sat and Sun and paid if works; then follows

Weekday Sat Sun

b123456789 b123456789 b123456789

111111111

Hope it will helps

I tried it and when I executed "PT63" , it showing me work/paid for everything and on top of it is showing "Free/off" day on Tues and Wed day. I checked my PWS and setting for "off/free" day is only on SAT and Sun day (day #6,7) . what else I should check ?

Does Tues and Wednesday are holidays? Then according to your requirement; Holiday will be off/paid, which is daytpe 1

And the rest of the week employee supposed to be work in order to be paid --> Daytype is work/paid - blank

Please clear your requirement, if it not you are looking for. do you want sat and sunday to be off/paid, if sat/sun is a holiday?

If you can please check the workschedule, what is tuesday and wednesday(date) - which country you are trying to do?

No Tues and Wed day aren’t holidays . It is showing "off" these 2 days in every week in report "PT63". My Req is sat/sun should be unpaid/off .i.e. day type "2".

I am doing for U.S ( 10) .

I think you are having Period Work Schedule problem. I think you Tuesday and Wednes day have assigned to OFF days.

So, Can you check the Ref.date for PWS in Work Schedule design?

and the start point in PWS?

Thanks

I already checked PWS (Table :V_T551A) and in day 1 to 5 I have my DWS i.e. SDAY and for 6 and 7 I have Free/off day ...

As I said, in the Work Schedule Rule Please check the following details:

Try with the following values in Work Schedule Rule

Ref.date for PWS: 01/3/2005 - (which is basically Monday)

Start Point in PWS - 1

Hope this will resolve your issue.

Thanks

I fixed the problem by deleting WS/PWS and recreating one. This time it works .

Can any body throw me some cool tips/example/help so I can fully understand day type selection rule . I know what day type "blank" "1" and "2" means as well as HC "blank" "1" and "2" means . but I am confuse at how to write day type selection rules.

If I save data in CAT2 e.g. Illness, sick( Type of Absence), I should be able to look at them in 2001 right ? I did my CAT setting "Immediately transfer to HR" . I am seeing attendance (2002 ) in PA30 saved via CAT2 but not Absences (2001) why is that ?

I am just trying different options to understand day type selections rules. I want that on public holiday, one group of employees should be off/paid and other should be off/unpaid . I was able to set up the 1st part and when I ran my Pt63, Looks like it is there what I want .

Weekday

FYI -"B" here is blank and 1 is under "1" .

I have my above rule is in place and when I entered the “attendance” via CAT2 . It also got updated in 2002. When I am entering absence, it is not showing me anything is 2001. my CAT2 setting is “immediately transfer to HR” , is something wrong with above rule ?

Note: In PT63 it showing me DAY type/HC = 1 where ever it is holiday. Otherwise I am seeing work/pad which is all right.

I think for off/unpaid I have to say something like???

Weekday

b123456789

2

Sat

b123456789

2

Sun.

b123456789

2

FYI -"B" here is blank and 2 is under "2" .

What is the concept of weekday, according my understanding any first things represent holiday class

Public holiday class blank = Not a public holiday

Public holiday class 1 = Public holiday

Day type blank = Work/paid

Day type 1 = Off/paid

Day type 2 = Off/unpaid

Day type 3 = Special day

Can some body explain me what is the easiest or smartest way to read and write day type selection rules?

Thank you all for your help!

all you said is exactly correct. you are quite clear in the concepts. But i too wonder, how that absence creation failed

Hi Usman,

Its simple:

b123456789 b123456789 b123456789

111111111 222222222 22222222

This selection rule states that, if the HC is Blank or 0, that is Working day, the day type is Blank that is Work/Paid, the employee has to work then only employer will pay. If the HC is from 1 to 9, the corresponding Daytype rule is 1, that is Off/Paid, if it comes on Weekday. If the same will happen on Saturday or Sunday, the Daytype rule is 2, Off/Unpaid.

For CATS issue, execute the transaction CATA or CAT6 and see the infotype 2001. I hope, it will work now.

Good Luck

Om
