Change Number to modify BOM , DIR & Routing

Hi Gurus,

Would like to have an overview of how to make the change number manadatory for changing the BOM , DIR & Routing. I have heard that this can be done using transaction variants; t-code SHD0. Can anyone explain me the backend config required for this.

I also tried using OS27 where you check the "History Requirement", but this rule makes the change number compulsary even for the BOM which are newly created.

Hi Paddy,

This can be done by Using that "Field Exits" through ABAP,

you can activate or deactivate this field exits whenever you require it.

So Make all the Change Number Fields in respective Screens/programm as Mandatory through Field Exits by the help of Technical guy.
