The Substitute of MM50 in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Many clients asked what is the substitute of MM50 in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. They want to mass change material master either certain fields or extending views.

To mass extending views, the answer is APP ‘Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit’ (business role: BR_CONFIG_EXPERT_DATA_MIG). In case any of you are not familiar with this APP, this blog gives detailed step by step procedure in Part 1.

To mass change certain field, we shall use APP ‘Manage Mass Maintenance-products’ in Part 2 with detailed screenshots.

 

Part 1 APP ‘Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit’

Before mass import using the APP Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit’, let’s see the current view of product ‘TT_LQ_01’. The financial view is missing (Valuation Areas are empty)

Step 1: Create migration project 

Now let’s open APP ‘Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit’ , create a migration project via staging tables (from xml file upload)

Name the project for example ‘Product - extend’

Scroll down and step 2 will appear. Search for ‘product’ and choose ‘Product – extend existing record by new org levels’, click Review.

Tick at least ‘Product’ and click ‘Add’

Now let’s go to maintain migration objects within the newly created project.

It might take a while before we can process due to running activities.

Step 2: Download template

Once ready, tick the ‘Product – extend existing record by new org levels’,

on the Action column, 6 steps need to be proceed starting from ‘Download template’

Add the financial view of the project in the excel.

Step 3: Upload the xml file and Mapping Tasks

The click second step ‘Upload’.  It takes a while before the  4th step ‘Mapping Tasks’ shows up.

You can select all and click ‘Confirm’ or confirm the items one by one.

Step 4: Simulate

After that you can proceed with step 5 ‘Simulate’.

You may encounter errors and need to go to monitor and check those errors. Mostly because there are still many fields mapping need to be confirmed.

Step 5: Migrate

After fixing all those errors, you can proceed with ‘Migrate’ and here you can see the final result.

We have successfully extended the product with financial view.

Part 2: APP ‘Manage Mass Maintenance-products’

Before we change the product, the description of product TT_LQ_01 in English is ‘1P9’.

Step 1: Create Process

Step 2: Name the process description and click Save

Step 3: Select the fields you want to change and click ‘OK’ then ‘Continue’.

Step 4: Select multiple materials by filtering material number and language key ‘EN’

After clicking ‘Start’, initializing process begins we can see 3 materials have been selected as unchanged.

Step 5: Edit Records

Click ‘Edit Records’, the items will be displayed, you can switch to ‘Description’ tab

Select All and modify those fields. Then click go back the previous page by clicking the back arrow.

Now you can find 3 changed records and click ‘Continue’

Now let’s see the results:
