Hi asset expert
Is there a way to specify accumulated depreciation at the point of capitalising an asset?
My client disposed of an asset in prior years and has recently discovered it. They can't reverse the disposal (due to a number of closed financial years) but need to take on the asset with its accumulated depreciation.
I have capitalised the asset via ABZON (without issue) but doing a write-up of depreciation (tcode ABZU) returns the error AA402 (You cannot post write ups. None of the areas to be posted in accordance with the transaction type entered manages one of the depreciation types entered or cumulative values).
Posting manual depreciation via ABMA results in "unplanned depreciation" which is gets mixed up impairments which are different to the starting depreciation.
Can I use AS91 to take on the asset with accumulated depreciation? The Accm.Ord.Deprec field is greyed/read-only.
Any more ideas?
Thanks!
