ABAP Instance not available

The abab instance lets suppose example x is not running ,for that what command is used to restart the instance as well as what precautions we have to take before restarting instance

If the instance stopped without reason, check the trace for the workprocesses, e.g dev_w0 in the work directory. Also if the instance does not come up you will find the reason in dev_w0 or dev_disp in the work directory.

Latest versions have no longer startsap, use 'sapcontrol' with the required options to start your instance.
