How To: Marketing campaigns over fiskal and/or calender years

Hello together,

I know it is a little bit tricky to plan and use marketing campaigns in SAP Marketing if you want to plan budgets over periods which are not ending after 12 months (for example a birthday mailing).

How do you solve this issue at the moment?

I am looking for a best practice, because ending your campaign at the end of the year, copy it and creating a new one with new budget etc. is the best idea I have additional to the feeling there should be a smarter solution.

At least the the sap influence portal there is no idea like that public at the moment (

https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/campaign/38/ideas-vote/?search=budget ), so I think this is an edge case or I do not see the best solution yet.

We are on Hybris Marketing OnPremise 1809.

Unfortunately, a campaign funded by a budget plan cannot be cross year. May I suggest that you request this feature using our customer influence tool https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/campaign/38/ideas?campaign=38, under Improvement Request Category Marketing Planning and Performance?

We take our customers' requests very seriously and we look into improving our software by evaluating the requests in this tool and the number of votes each of them gets.

Could you provide more detail about your birthday mailing campaign? How long those campaign will be? Do you plan to fund those campaigns by several budget plan?

thanks for your reply and sorry for my delay. I am going to talk about the details of the desired state of options with our customer soon and provide you all necessary information on https://influence.sap.com

I am already watching the ideas on your influence portal, but yet there is not there what would solve our actual issue.


To give you some more examples of campaigns runnings constantly:

- birthday mailings - (daily and ongoing with special, individualized offer)

- jubilee mailings (for example is [x] years customer) - (daily and ongoing with special, individualized offer)

Do you plan to fund those campaigns by several budget plan?

- Due to the fact that budget is allocated periodically I am pretty sure the long term solution is going to result in this direction. But thats not sure yet.

If you could provide a hint to the following question, that would be great and may helps in the meantime (from my initial post):

How do you (other companies) solve this issue at the moment? What are the smartest work-arounds at the moment?
