Hi,
We are doing an CRM upgrade from 5.0 to 7.0 for our client.
Can anyone let me know the new features which have been incorporated in CRM 7.0 Service as to 5.0.
If any document in this regards would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Upgrading form CRM 5.0 to 7.0 , main problems will arise in IC WEB level.
In 5.0 we have only one component like CRM_IC, but in 7.0 for each object we have seperate componennt ( Ex: BP_CONT for business partner ).
In 5.0 Bsp's and 7.0 webdynpros.
so Mainly into WEB UI you will get lot of enhancements.

But here are some highlinghts:
(1) Packages in Service Order Quotations (New) - You can include packages (packaged products) in a service order quotation item. When you select a package, the package components are displayed in the items in a hierarchical structure (with the sub-components as subitems). You can deselect components that are not required. THis requires configuration in item category
(2) Serial Number Entry in Confirmations (New) - As of SAP CRM 5.0, you can create serial numbers for service parts in service confirmations. The serial numbers that are entered can be validated. You can tailor the serial number checks to your needs by using BAdI.
(3) Use of Complaints and Returns to Update Sales Contracts (New) - If the customer (dealer) creates a complaint or return, depending on the Customizing settings, it is possible for the system to find a sales contract and update the values for Released Quantity and Released Value. Use the IMG activity Define Copying Control for Item Categories to define the copying control for
copying conditions from sales contracts to complaints and returns
(4) Complaint with reference to trade promotion (New) - Within the context of complaints processing, you can now create the new transaction Complaint with reference to trade promotion.
(5) Complaints for External Products (New)
(5) Provider Contracts (New) - (Service Contracts) - You can use the contract type provider contract. In a provider contract, you can map long-term agreements for services and products from telecommunications.
(6) Usage-Based Service Contract
These are in addition to the technical (UI architecture) changes and introduction of more marketing feratures.
