Hello everyone,
First of all , I would like to thank kunal.saggar4for including me and giving me an opportunity to be a member of Blog it Forward chain.
My Introduction!!
My name is Poonam Hingankar. I’m born and brought up in Mumbai , popularly known as ‘Amchi Mumbai ‘ (ie Our Mumbai  ) .Having done my school and graduation from Mumbai itself, I did not move out of Mumbai until I got placed in Infosys Ltd.
Begin a fresher in IT Industry , I have enjoyed every bit of this journey till now….from the training in Infosys Mysore campus to ,now, Infosys Pune to exploring different cities…to learning new technologies and I’m sure it will be enjoyable further as well. I have been privileged enough to work with colleagues who have always encouraged me to succeed. Currently I'm working in SAP Enterprise Portal.
I believe ‘A smile brightens your day’…So share a smile with everyone you meet .To speak about myself ,I would say I’m a combination of optimist and pessimist person because I try and weigh the negative side of any situation to find a solution and then be positive and work on the solution!!
Sitting at one place and doing nothing is not my cup of tea . I like indulging myself in some activity or the other.
Sneek Peek into Mumbai!!
Mumbai needs no introduction. Mumbai, earlier referred as Bombay, got its name derived from Maha-Amba – the name of Koli Goddess Mumbadevi – and Aai , “mother” in the language of Marathi.
Mumbai is the not just capital of Maharashtra state in India but commercial and entertainment capital as well…heartbeat of India!! I’m kinda feeling proud while saying this!!
Mumbai, a land of lights, people , livelihood ,enthusiasm , dreams , oneness and …..Bollywood!!! .
It is said Mumbai never sleeps..!!!...wide awake anytime of the day..!! This can be easily seen in the city as even at midnight we can find something along the road for transportation..for food..for all the basic needs!! Mumbai is also famous for the variety of food it offers. All types of Indian cusines , Chinese , Italian , Thai etc can be relished here in high end restaurants as well as in budget friendly ones..you name it we have it!!
Mumbai cannot be complete without mentioning Sachin Tendulkar!! ...God of Cricket as he is referred !! When he plays Mumbai comes to a stand still!!
Every festival is celebrated here with equal zeal and enthusiasm!! One of favorites being Ganesh Festival which is a ten day festival starting with bring home the Ganesh Idol then worshipping it , offering prayers and followed by biding good bye to the lord (Visarjan) on the 10th day with chants all around 'Pudhacha Varshi Lavkar Ya' ie 'Come soon next year' .

My response to questions asked by Kunal Saggar in Blog It Forward - Kunal Saggar :
1. If you were given by your work a full day every week to do whatever you feel like, what would it be?
If given an entire day per week to do whatever I feel like, then I would surely like to resume my incomplete lessons of Bharatnatyam, an Indian classical dance form  . And remaining part of my day would be engaged in improving my knowledge and hopefully not lazying around  .
2. What do you most enjoy on SCN?
SCN begin a vast ocean of knowledge has answers for all possible queries, thanks to our experts answering them. In times when searching for a solution to my problem is an only option other than quitting perhaps  , I enjoy SCN the most!! .I also enjoy blogs like these , as they give an opportunity to interact with everyone here (along with brownie points for writing it!! ) and reading lot of informative articles.
3. Name the person who affected you most in your career/ way of thinking and why?
Regarding this question I’m unsure what to answer as there has not been only one specific person who has influenced my way of thinking in a positive way. Every advice given by family..friends..office mates has helped me shape myself as I’m today. So , I would say all these people around me have affected me in terms of my way of thinking.
Now, I would like to blog it forward to the following people :
shruti.kalathil harshada.deshpande durgamadhab.mishra
and would like to ask them the following questions -
1. Tell us one quality of yourself you would never want to change ?
2. If you were not in IT Industry , what career would you have choosen for yourself ?
and one last one....
3. If you were to be a super hero for a day which one would you be and what would you do ?
Thank you one and all for reading the blog.Your comments are most welcome!!
