WebDynpro application configuration

We are looking to add custom fields to the WebDynpro apps based on BEx queries.

I would like to understand if it recommended to update the standard WD application configuration? We are trying to avoid any maintenance work with new tile definitions.

Hello Veena,

changing the properties of the WD application configuration does normally not harm the definition of FLP Tiles.

Replacing the WD application configuration of course would.

In S4 bex queries will be based on CDS views. Extend the CDS views and fields will be automatically available in standard app and it won't require any maintenance of new tile.

We updated the BEx queries and it reflected the field in the output but for the field to display in selection, we needed to update the application configuration. Is it recommended to update the standard WD appl config?

Enhancing standard WD appl config is fine. Yes for selection, appl enhancing is must
