SAP Analytics Cloud: Disable variants in stories

Hi together,

the new feature with BW variants (prompt screen) in stories is nice.
But is it also possible to deactivate this function as a story designer?

Don't think so, and haven't seen a way how to set a default variant as well

Would assume as this is coming from the BW/AFO query and there is no property how to control it's visibility/availability there as well

can't see anything as well in the data source vs document mode:

From an end user perspective: for some users nice feature, but many users don't need it and after the new SAC update they are confronted with this new option.

this will lead to question to keyusers and BI team, and so it would be great (like in lumira) to activate oder deactivate the feature. But maybe this is a new feature in 6 months 😄

Hi Patrick,

I got the same question from my customers on Monday as well ;-). Would be great if introducing a new feature would also include the ability to properly manage it. So a simple toggle on model level for instance would give you the possibility to decide whether or not to expose the option to use variants.

Guess you will submit an improvement request for this?
