SAP AIF and SLT integration

Dear Colleaues,
Got a requirement for replicating data from SAP R/3 to S/4 HANA system. We are thinking of using the SAP SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation Replication) for this purpose.

The question is can we integrate SLT with SAP AIF for monitoring and error handling purpose? Also, can we use the AIF mapping capabilities to transform the source data to target data before updating the data to target system.

my understanding is that you can connect the target S/4HANA system via RFC, then it's possible to use AIF for monitoring and error handling incl. mappings and data checks
